Nevada-grown and Alberta timothy and alfalfa carry most of what a working or trail horse needs, but Florida pasture is usually thin on copper, zinc, and selenium. A properly-matched loose mineral or ration-balancer fills those gaps without piling on unneeded calories. Good supplements match the hay you feed: grass-hay horses lean on a grass-balancer, alfalfa-heavy diets need a different ratio, and working horses under saddle daily usually pull extra salt and electrolytes. Hallway, Sentinel, Kentucky Equine Research (KER), and Central States cover most of what the Williston corridor actually needs, and those are the brand families we'll be pulling from.
